The price is spot on for what you get, and you'll soon find yourself invested. Yo wrap it all up, Airborne Kingdom is a fantastic Indie game, and if it has piqued your interest, then go and grab it. So just stick with it, and you'll get there soon enough. The list seems to be one that gets completed as you play. Customisation can really make your city stand out as you strive to make your airborne kingdom a reality.Īchievements are straight forward with nothing to tough to work towards. Moving on from this and something I really liked, was the ability to change the lighting in various buildings to your taste as well as the patterns of walkways etc. And dont forget streetlights, as day turns to night, they'll want to be able to see still. Your people will not like this and it won't be aesthetically pleasing either. So don't go throwing it all on one side and expecting nothing to happen. When expanding, its a good idea to make sure that the balance is as even as possible. Progessing through the research was as simple as it could be, and it wasn't long before I was expanding my city and purchasing much needed upgrades to allow my city to flourish. I never once felt overwhelmed with anything, and soon found myself hooked. Gameplay mechanics are smooth, and learning where everything is in the menus is simple to get the hang of. Nothing too hard, and its essential in knowing the game forward. When interacting with new cities, there will be a quest or two that will require your help before they will bless you with an increase in population or conduct trade with you. The greater and happier it is for the current citizens, the more people will flock to you. And once that is done, who will be helping your city grow? Now is the time to find settlements and cities on the land to spread the word about your city in the sky. So not only will you need to add pathways, but adding new ways in which to keep them afloat also. Once you start to add more weight, naturally, your city will gain weight and size. After all, you wouldn't want to place housing next to anything like a furnace would you? Your citizens don't take kindly to the idea of living among any industrial buildings. Not only that, but placement is vitally improving too.
Planning your expansions is a necessity as you research new buildings and upgrades. Not of glory, but stupidity on my behalf. Not enough coal to fuel the city? You will crash.
Too much weight and not enough lift? You will crash. Sourcing supplies to keep your city afloat is a must however. As time goes by, you will explore the world map and the secrets hidden within. It gently eases you into the game mechanics, and the gameplay by letting you progress at a natural pace. It doesn't have a system in place to the extent of say, Civilization. Airborne Kingdom will have its hooks in you and draw you in before you know it. To answer the question as quickly as possible, its a resounding yes. Is it worth your cash and does the game do the job? OK, 2 questions. Here, you're not restricted to a set location, you city is high up in the skies, and you can move around freely to a new land, in search of treasures, new supply locations and much more. But Airborne Kingdom does things a little differently. Find a spot to start off, and then expand. If you've ever played a city building game, you know the drill.
